Huaca Pucllana

Huaca Pucllana is an archaeological site belonging to the Lima culture, from the period of regional developments (200 – 700 AD), located in the district of Miraflores, province of Lima, capital of the Republic of Peru. The archaeological complex was abandoned for many years, it was used as a midden and was even used for motocross practice. Over the last 40 years, it has been investigated, conserved and restored since 1981 by a multidisciplinary team led by specialist Isabel Flores Espinoza with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Peru and the Municipality of Miraflores. It has become one of the main tourist attractions of Metropolitan Lima and the most researched archaeological site in Lima. It is built almost entirely with adobe and filled with pebbles and sand. It is made up of a 25-meter-high pyramid and a set of patios, squares and enclosures to the northeast of it. It has an exhibition hall, visiting circuit and other attractions.
