Considered the oldest city in the Americas, Caral is over 5,000 years old and is renowned for its pyramids, circular ceremonial plazas, and advanced urban planning. Declared a World Heritage Site, it represents a peaceful society focused on trade, science, music, and astronomy. It is one of the most important settlements of the ancient world.

Caral was the first civilization in the Americas, contemporary with civilizations such as those of Sumer, Egypt, India, and China, and flourished in north-central Peru between approximately 5000 and 1800 BCE. The Sacred City of Caral is an archaeological site renowned for its monumental architecture, including pyramids and sunken circular plazas, and is the oldest urban settlement in the Americas identified to date. The civilization was characterized by an economy based on agriculture and fishing, sophisticated urban planning, and the use of quipus for recording information.

Departures: Monday to Saturday – 7:00 AM(or according to the cruise ship’s arrival time)
Starting Point: Port of Callao – Direct reception at the disembarkation area.

Arrival at the Sacred City of Caral 10:30 am
Entrance to the complex with the assistance of an official English-speaking guide, an expert in Andean history.
We will finish the tour in Caral and return to Lima
On the way back we can stop for some typical food before returning to the port; meals are not included.
You will be back at Callao Port 19:00 pm

Note:

The meeting point will be at the main entrance of the Port of Callao, called APN. Our team will be waiting there with a sign bearing our agency's name, "Lima Discover" ready to begin the tour.

Most cruise lines offer buses that transport passengers from the pier to the main port entrance, which takes about 15 minutes.

However, sometimes passengers are taken directly to the Miraflores district. In that case, we can also pick you up there. Just let us know one or two days before the tour, and we'll make sure everything is arranged for your group. The drive to Miraflores will take approximately 50 minutes.
